We are living in the phenomenal era, where Saudi Arabia granted citizenship to Sophia, the first robot citizen. Since then she proved herself apt for the decision, rational and in true sense ‘Intelligent’. Recently she spoke at ‘Brain Bar’, which is the Biggest European Festival of the Future. She is absolute in facial expressions, mannerism and answering questions. A new cult has developed; and we have witnessed the pinnacle of Al. Hence hereafter Al and humans will work hand in hand to achieve goals.
The encroachment of machine intelligence is at its alarming stage. Willingly or unwillingly, knowingly or unknowingly we are not only dependent on Al; but engulfed in it. Al has encompassed every single aspect, every single field of life. It is working for everyone from toddlers to senior citizens, from banking to defence sectors. We can’t resist dependence on AL . Some of the most interesting instances of Al are awful. How many of us know that, many products that feed on social networking are suggested by AL ? It determines the need of customers and triggers business. Have you observed that most of Al assistant voices are of female? A study shows female voices are more trustworthy and people find it better to hear so female voice is preferred. Google map is the best example of this kind. Apart from that there are many apps and devices such as most trendy and popular device, Alexa.
Al has an enormous market. There are innumerable things which can be developed, researched and implemented for Al. It will create a boom in market. Professionals will require to meet the demand for this rapidly growing industry. Endless innovations can help to sustain and develop Al industry.
But it has some negative aspects as well, the unstoppable advancement of Al in every industry will boomerang soon. This may cost bread and butter of working-class. Intelligence is believed to be the gift of nature but machines replaced labours during industrialization now machines are replaced by robots and robotic arms. Consequently, this will lead to unemployment, yet another crisis of modern technology. On the contrary rapidly developed population needs jobs.
Its indeed Al will generate abundant scope and a huge platform for youngsters, still more jobs will be required in future. The greatest Physicist Stephen Hawking proclaimed it much earlier.
Though Al is a way ahead than humans even well-equipped in cognitive skills still humans are smarter than Machine intelligence. Though Al will drive car for us, navigate us, perform surgeries, fight in battle field, write for us; and will perform the endless tasks beyond our expectations, still human race is superior.
Humans have emotions, language, expressions, in addition to that we have a beating heart which the machine doesn’t
possess. Every man made thing is imperfect only God can make perfect things. Before summing up, we need to introspect because we are stepping in an era where we will be dominated by Al. We have the right to make future world smarter for the forthcoming generations but not dependent and completely controlled by machine.
Otherwise next generations will have to live, fighting and struggling with machines.
